Hedge Fund Hiring Signals is operated by ELW Partners, a sole trader registered in the United Kingdom. This notice covers two kinds of people: licensees, who hold an account, and candidates, whose CVs a licensee uploads.
The platform holds the email address, name and firm given at checkout, the plan bought, the version of the terms accepted, and a record of each sign-in and each map run. That is the minimum needed to run the licence and to bill it. Payment details are taken by Stripe and never reach the platform.
A licensee uploads a candidate's CV. The platform stores that file, reads it to build a profile, and scores the profile against live roles. The licensee is the controller of the candidate's data and confirms it has the candidate's permission. ELW Partners is the processor and uses the CV for nothing except producing that licensee's maps. It is never sold, never shared with another licensee or any fund, never used to contact the candidate, and never used to recruit. The operator does not open a licensee's CVs or maps except to run the service or at the licensee's own request.
Four services handle it on the platform's behalf: Hetzner, whose server in Helsinki, Finland runs the platform and holds every uploaded CV, profile and map; Anthropic, whose Claude model reads each CV to produce the map and does not train on that data; Stripe, for payment; and Cloudflare, which carries traffic to the server. The nightly backup is held on the platform's own equipment. Nobody else receives it.
A candidate's CV, the profile read from it and the map made from it are deleted thirty days after the run, or earlier from the desk at any time. Backup copies are overwritten within seven days. The licensee can download a map as a spreadsheet before it goes. The licensee's desk keeps the candidate's name, the date and the location of each run for the life of the licence, as its own record. Sign-in sessions expire after fourteen days. Licensee account and billing records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires.
Before a map is deleted, the platform keeps an anonymised statistics row drawn from it: role family, seniority band, location, pay band and fit scores. No candidate, licensee or client can be identified from it. These statistics may be used in other products and services.
The platform keeps a register of the people who most likely hire for each open role it tracks: a name, a job title, the firm, and the public page the name was read from, such as a LinkedIn profile, a firm's own team page or a press release. It is shown to licensees so they can send a candidate to the right person. Nothing private is held: no personal email, no phone number, no home address. The basis is legitimate interests, the same basis business contact directories work on. An entry is kept for as long as the person appears to hold the role; each one is re-checked every ninety days and removed when the public record no longer supports it.
If you are listed and would rather not be, fill in the form below. A link goes to the work email you give; opening it confirms the request. The entry is then deleted and your name is kept on a suppression list so it is not collected again. Nothing is removed on an unconfirmed request, so nobody can remove someone else.
Anyone whose data the platform holds can ask what is held, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. A candidate can make that request directly, without going through the licensee. Write to [email protected]. A complaint can also be made to the Information Commissioner's Office.
The platform sets one cookie, which keeps a licensee signed in. There is no tracking and no advertising.
